We the Wild
We're building the leading plant care brand for modern consumers. We're redefining how people connect with their plants through science-backed products and fresh, sustainable thinking. We're scaling rapidly across multiple markets, and this is just the beginning.
We are an Australian-headquartered company with warehouse and manufacturing facilities in Houston, Texas, and Sydney, Australia.
About the Role
The Finance Manager is a hands-on, execution-focused finance professional responsible for keeping the day-to-day financial operations of We the Wild running with accuracy and discipline.
Reporting to the Operations Director, this is not a role for someone who prefers to stay at a distance from the numbers. You will be deeply involved in the details, owning financial outputs and ensuring the business always has a clear, accurate, and up-to-date understanding of its financial position.
You will be supported by a full-time Bookkeeper and an AR/AP team member, as well as dedicated external tax and accounting firms in both Australia and the US that manage local compliance obligations. Everything else sits with you—including month-end close, cash flow management, payroll, financial reporting, and maintaining the financial models and systems that underpin the business.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is comfortable managing the operational complexity of retail, wholesale, e-commerce, warehouse, and manufacturing operations across two markets.
We're looking for someone who can maintain and continuously improve what we've built—not someone looking to start from scratch.
Startup life involves constant context-switching, navigating ambiguity, and solving new and unforeseen challenges. Throughout it all, the Finance Manager must remain thoughtful, precise, proactive, and solution-oriented, while consistently applying a commercial mindset to every aspect of the role.
This is a remote position that primarily operates within Australian time zones, with the expectation of at least one day per week of overlap with our US team.
