This individual provides day-to-day leadership by supporting crews, assisting with technical challenges, reinforcing company expectations, and communicating field concerns to management. The Team Lead promotes accountability, consistency, and professionalism while helping maintain a productive and positive work environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical questions and field-related issues.
- Assist crews with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Promote consistent installation methods and adherence to company standards.
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements.
Team Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to field personnel.
- Foster teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
- Set the standard for work ethic, quality, and safety.
- Assist in training and developing newer employees.
Accountability
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.
- Address minor performance concerns promptly through coaching and constructive feedback.
- Document recurring performance or attendance issues and communicate them to management.
- Recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
- Recognize and reinforce positive performance and professional behavior.
Communication
- Communicate company updates, procedural changes, and project information to field personnel.
- Relay concerns, suggestions, and operational challenges from the field to management.
- Help resolve issues before they escalate whenever possible.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Recommend training needs based on recurring field observations.
- Assist in developing and implementing best practices.
Authority
The Field Team Lead is expected to provide leadership, coaching, and accountability within the field. This role has the authority to:
- Address routine performance issues.
- Coach employees to correct behaviors or improve performance.
- Assign daily work responsibilities as directed by project management.
- Recommend recognition, additional training, or disciplinary action.
The Field Team Lead does not have the authority to:
- Issue written disciplinary actions without management approval.
- Suspend or terminate employees without management approval.
- Conduct formal performance evaluations.
- Approve compensation changes.
- Make hiring or termination decisions.
Formal disciplinary actions remain the responsibility of Operations Management Team.
