The Field Support Specialist will visit retail locations to monitor kiosk performance, provide training to store staff, and maintain strong partner relationships. They are responsible for documenting field observations and escalating any operational or technical issues to the Eyebot team.
Eyebot is an outcome-focused technology company on a mission to make vision care accessible to everyone, equally. Headquartered in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood and backed by top investors and the National Science Foundation, our vision test kiosk is reshaping how vision care is delivered.
If you are passionate about solving big problems and building the future of vision care, we would love to hear from you.
Eyebot is seeking Field Support Specialists to serve as a local presence for our kiosk network across Missouri and Nebraska. In this role, you will visit retail locations on a regular cadence to check in with store staff, assess how our kiosks are performing in the field, and provide hands-on training and encouragement to associates. You will be a key part of how Eyebot maintains strong relationships with its retail partners and drives kiosk utilization across your territory.
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement. We're hiring across three regional territories, each covering six to seven store locations. Reliable transportation is required, as some circuits involve several hours of regional drive time between locations.
The Northwest Missouri & Nebraska territory will cover stores in Lincoln, St. Joseph, Kansas City, and Clinton.
You will visit each assigned store location in person approximately once per month, plus a brief weekly phone check-in with most locations to stay connected between visits. Expect roughly 12.5 to 15 hours of work per week depending on territory, factoring in store visits, drive time, phone check-ins, and travel planning. Specific visit logistics and scheduling will be confirmed at engagement start.
You'll occasionally be asked to attend a wellness event at one of your stores when the location schedules one. These come up as needed rather than on a fixed calendar, and you'll get advance notice.
Training and Onboarding
Your first few weeks will include onsite training at Eyebot's Boston headquarters, followed by ride-alongs with current Field Support team members before you begin independent store visits in your territory.
Visit assigned retail locations approximately once a month to check in on kiosk operations and store staff engagement.
Maintain a weekly phone check-in with most assigned locations to stay on top of store conditions between visits.
Build relationships with store associates and managers, serving as a trusted and approachable point of contact for Eyebot in the field.
Gauge store staff sentiment toward the Eyebot kiosk and surface insights back to the Eyebot team - both the positive signals and the friction points.
Conduct in-person training sessions for store associates on how to use and recommend the Eyebot kiosk to customers.
Reinforce best practices for kiosk placement, presentation, and daily upkeep.
Attend store-scheduled wellness events as they come up.
Identify issues - operational, technical, or relational - and escalate promptly to the Eyebot team.
Submit a brief field report following each visit to document observations, training completed, and any open items.
Required Qualifications
Experience in retail, field sales, brand ambassador, or customer-facing roles.
Strong interpersonal skills - you are comfortable walking into a store, introducing yourself, and building rapport quickly.
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule and visit cadence without close supervision.
Clear written and verbal communication - you can relay field observations in a way that is useful and actionable.
Reliable access to transportation within Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with consumer technology products, health and wellness brands, or optical/vision care.
Background in field operations, territory management, or retail training.
Comfort with basic technology - you can troubleshoot a common kiosk question or escalate the right way without hesitation.
Who You Are:
You are a self-starter who does not need someone looking over your shoulder to stay on track and follow through.
You read people well and know how to adapt your approach depending on who you're talking to.
You take ownership of your territory - if something looks off, you flag it; if something is working, you know why.
You are organized and reliable - stores and the Eyebot team can count on you to show up, do the work, and report back.
Competitive contractor rate - hourly rate of $30-40/hr; commensurate with experience
Flexible scheduling within visit cadence requirements.
Clear onboarding and training provided by the Eyebot team before your first store visit.
The opportunity to represent a technology that is improving access to vision care for everyday people.
