Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Troubleshoot faults across DC systems, inverters, and MV equipment while supervising subcontractors and completing technical documentation.
Responsibilities
Execute pre-commissioning, cold commissioning and hot commissioning of utility scale BESS projects
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed energy storage projects
Valid at electrical installations, system configuration and performance
Troubleshoot faults across DC systems, PCS/Inverters, MV equipment, SCADA and auxiliaries
Supervise subcontractors and ensure site works meet safety, quality and project requirements
Complete commissioning records, service reports, fault reports and handover documentation
Support client training, site handover, warranty investigations and technical reporting
Support regional delivery, commissioning and O&M activities, including travel to project sites as required.
Requirements
Electrical, electrotechnical, or equivalent technical qualification, with proven experience in electrical installation, commissioning, maintenance, or fault finding
Proven experience working on utility-scale electrical systems, preferably including BESS, PCS/inverters, DC battery systems, MV/LV switchgear, transformers, SCADA, BMS or EMS systems
Electrical safety training,competenceand authorisationrequiredfor work on or near electrical installations
Competence to work under EN 50110-1 and applicable Portuguese electrical safety procedures, including live LV work, work near live parts and work in the vicinity of HV/MV systems
Practical experience using correctly rated electrical test equipment, diagnostic tools
Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlock logic, commissioningproceduresand OEM technical manuals
Experience with installation, commissioning, energisation, maintenance and fault finding across DC systems, PCS/inverters, MV interfaces and SCADA systems
Familiarity with BMS, EMS, SCADA, PLCs, communication networks, HVAC, fire detection/suppressioninterfacesand auxiliary systems
Ability to work under permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, switching, isolation,RAMSand site safety procedures
Completion of mandatory workplace health and safety training under Portuguese safety requirements before site deployment
Ability to complete commissioning records, test reports, service reports, fault reports, riskassessmentsand handover documentation accurately
Legal right to work in Portugal
Valid Category B driving licence
Willingness to travel across Portugal and internationally asrequired
Availability for call-out, outage support,overtimeor occasional weekend work
