Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal with strong exposure to the Australian legal system and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience supporting family law matters. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assisting lawyers with divorce, child custody, parenting arrangements, property settlements, domestic violence matters, and other family law proceedings within the Australian jurisdiction. Prior experience working remotely with Australian law firms or legal teams is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers in managing Australian family law matters from intake through resolution.

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, affidavits, court forms, briefs, and disclosure materials.

  • Organize and maintain client files, court documents, and case management systems.

  • Coordinate communication with clients, courts, barristers, mediators, and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct legal and factual research related to Australian family law procedures and regulations.

  • Assist in preparing matters for mediation, hearings, and court proceedings.

  • Monitor deadlines, court dates, and compliance requirements.

  • Provide administrative and paralegal support in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal with exposure to Australian family law matters.

  • Strong understanding of Australian family law processes, documentation, and court procedures.

  • Experience supporting matters involving divorce, parenting disputes, property settlements, and domestic violence applications.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Experience using legal practice management software and document management systems.

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while collaborating effectively with legal teams.

  • Formal legal education, paralegal certification, or equivalent legal training is preferred.
