The Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Program (GSWS) invites applications for a part-time instructor position for the fall term 2026, beginning on August 24, 2026. This position is outside the tenure stream and entails teaching one, introductory, writing-intensive course in the program. This course is listed with the College of General Studies (CGS) and will be in an online modality. Minimum qualifications are field expertise in gender and sexuality studies (demonstrated through coursework and/or a research profile); a Ph.D. degree or advanced standing in a Ph.D. program; and college-level teaching experience. Familiarity with methodologies currently used in the GSWS program is preferred.
To apply, submit the following: (a) a letter of application; (b) a current CV that includes the names and contact information for 3 references; (c) copies of teaching evaluations for 1-2 recent courses; (d) one letter of recommendation (which may be uploaded or emailed to frcst5@pitt.edu), if possible addressing teaching. The course to be covered is GSWS 0150, “Gender and the Professions".
