At Virtual Internships, Placement Matching Specialists (PMS) are at the heart of what we do: connecting students from around the world with real, career-building remote internships.
This Expression of Interest is ideally for early-career people who want to learn fast, take ownership, and be stretched in the right way. The PMS role is a proven launchpad at VI: a high-learning, high-support environment where many people build their core skills before growing into other teams across the company within ~1-1.5 years.

As a Placement Matching Specialist, you’ll join our fast-moving Placements Team and take ownership of matching interns with global host companies across industries and time zones.
You’ll work hands-on with real placements, real stakeholders, and real outcomes — learning how to communicate clearly, influence decisions, and manage complexity at pace. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Matching interns with suitable host companies and securing placement opportunities
Leading conversations with companies to present candidates and guide decisions
Following up consistently to keep placements moving and overcome delays
Managing multiple placements at once while staying organised and focused
Keeping systems and admin up to date so every placement runs smoothly
You’ll never be left to figure things out alone — but you will be trusted to own your work and grow quickly.
The PM role is one of the fastest learning roles at Virtual Internships. In a short time, you’ll develop:
Confidence in professional communication and persuasion
Strong judgement through real, hands-on decision-making
The ability to manage multiple priorities without feeling overwhelmed
Ownership, resilience, and comfort working in a global, fast-paced startup environment

You take responsibility and follow things through

You communicate clearly and confidently in English
You’re excited by learning, growth, and meaningful work
1–3 years of experience in sales, recruitment, customer-facing, or similar fast-paced roles
Experience working remotely or with global teams is a plus
Fresh graduates or career switchers with strong written communication and drive are welcome

Remote-First: All roles at VI are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere.
Flexible Working Hours: Start earlier, leave earlier, take a shorter lunch, or leave later, it's totally up to you.
Annual Leave: Wherever you are in the world, you’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave per year, plus bank holidays and 5 sick days.
Life Event Leave: There are moments in life where your life responsibility is a higher priority than work (e.g. moving house, your best friend getting married, your sister having a baby) therefore, you’ll get 5 days of paid life-event leave to support these occasions. You also get a day off on your birthday. This is in addition to your Annual Leave.
