Expert Python Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Expert Python Engineer to join our team full-time in India.

About the role:

As an Expert Python Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Django
• Architect and implement core components for:
  • Marketplace systems (catalog, transactions, integrations)
  • Workflow engine (process automation, orchestration, state management)
• Collaborate closely with frontend teams to integrate APIs with UI prototypes
• Lead backend development efforts, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability
• Define and enforce best practices in system design, coding standards, and security
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, efficiency, and reliability
• Work with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and QA
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Requirements:

• 10+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Strong expertise in Python and Django framework
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Experience with database design (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
• Solid knowledge of asynchronous programming, caching, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with workflow engines / orchestration systems is a strong plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and system design capabilities

Desirable: 

• Experience in building marketplace platforms or e-commerce systems
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Understanding of security best practices and data protection
