📝 Job Description: Estimator (Roofing & Siding)
Position Title: Estimator
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Location: Remote
Role Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for roofing and siding projects. Using Planswift software as the primary tool, the Estimator will analyze project plans, drawings, and occasionally images to determine material requirements and pricing. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to support project managers and clients in making informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, drawings, and images to prepare material estimates for roofing and siding projects.
- Utilize Planswift to generate accurate take-offs and calculations.
- Maintain and update records in Google Sheets for tracking estimates, costs, and project details.
- Communicate with team members and clients via WhatsApp and other approved channels.
- Ensure estimates are completed within deadlines and aligned with project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers to clarify requirements and adjust estimates as needed.
- Provide recommendations to optimize material usage and reduce costs.
🎯 Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably in roofing and siding projects.
- Proficiency in Planswift (mandatory).
- Strong skills in Google Sheets for data entry, calculations, and reporting.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, plans, and images.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience using WhatsApp or similar platforms for professional coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
Preferred
- Background in construction, architecture, or engineering.
- Knowledge of industry standards and material specifications for roofing and siding.
- Experience working in a remote environment with distributed teams.
- Familiarity with cost control and budgeting practices.
