This role converts architectural designs and project specifications into precise cost estimates and material take-offs for a premier Victorian construction specialist. You will be collaborating directly with the Australian project team to secure and plan high-end facade projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ESTIMATOR (ALUMINIUM CLADDING)
Responsibilities as an Estimator (Aluminium Cladding):
• Analyze Plans: Review architectural drawings, specifications, and engineering documents carefully.
• Quantify Materials: Conduct accurate take-offs for aluminium cladding and framing components.
• Calculate Costs: Estimate labor, material, fabrication, transport, and installation expenses.
• Request Quotes: Source and negotiate competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assess Risk: Identify potential project complexities, structural challenges, and cost variations.
• Collaborate Daily: Coordinate with Australian project managers to align budgets and timelines.
• Prepare Tenders: Compile detailed, compliant cost proposals for submission to clients.
Qualifications as an Estimator (Aluminium Cladding):
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of dedicated estimating experience in aluminium cladding systems.
• Software Mastery: Proficient in Bluebeam, CostX, PlanSwift, or Excel estimation models.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Australian National Construction Code (NCC).
• Technical Skills: Proven track record in facade material systems, structural allowances, and waste calculation.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills for Australian client collaboration.
• Portfolio Required: Proven experience, as evidenced by a portfolio or similar of previous successful bid projects, is required.
