AI Summary

The ERP Manager will own the NetSuite roadmap, priorities, and vendor relationships to ensure system stability and business alignment. They will lead the stabilization program, manage the backlog, and oversee onboarding for new business functions.

Summary

Birdbuddy is on a mission to reconnect people with nature through beautifully designed smart bird feeders and companion technology. We combine physical product manufacturing with recurring software revenue from our connected ecosystem, and we run the business on NetSuite: finance and close, inventory and supply chain, order management and fulfillment, and the integrations behind them.

We need one accountable owner for that system. As ERP Manager, you set the roadmap, own the priorities, hold our vendors and partners to account, and lead NetSuite from where it is today to a stable, predictable steady state. You will work alongside a dedicated NetSuite Specialist who handles hands-on configuration, integrations, and reporting to your priorities.

What you will own

  • The mandate. Accountability that NetSuite delivers what the business needs. You gather expectations across every function that touches the system and judge honestly whether it is meeting them.
  • The roadmap and backlog. A single prioritized backlog in one tool, with you deciding which projects run and in what order, and holding the line when priorities compete.
  • The stabilization program. Leading the program end to end, including through high season, with a predictable monthly close as the measure of success.
  • Vendors, governance, and budget. All vendor and partner relationships, the governance around them, and the budget. You select and manage any managed-services partner and own the build-versus-buy calls.
  • Onboarding the rest of the business. A development and onboarding plan for the functions not yet on the system.
  • Change control. Making the call on changes that touch the financial statements or a closed period, with the right sign-off, before they happen rather than in real time. Whether to reopen a closed month is your decision to adjudicate.
  • Cadence and knowledge. Running the daily sync with the Specialist and the weekly sync across roles, and making sure knowledge lives in runbooks rather than in one person's head.

Key Qualifications

  • You have personally owned an ERP stabilization or post-implementation cleanup end to end, with an outcome you can point to.
  • You have held real authority over vendors and budget, and made the call on what to build versus buy.
  • Real depth in NetSuite finance and the close, enough to adjudicate the calls this system throws up on the merits: revenue recognition and deferred revenue, COGS and inventory costing, bank reconciliation, and multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation. You can settle a booking dispute or a reopen-a-closed-period question yourself, not just route it to Finance.
  • A working command of the surrounding domains, inventory and supply chain, order-to-cash, and subscription revenue, deep enough to judge whether the system serves each function.
  • You manage senior stakeholders and make prioritization calls stick.
  • Experience in consumer products, e-commerce, or hardware, and carrying a system through a peak season without regression.
  • Around 8+ years of experience, several spent owning or leading a system, program, or team.
  • Fluent working English.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on familiarity with NetSuite, especially OneWorld multi-subsidiary, multi-currency (we run Slovenian and US entities).
  • A product management background, or manager experience at a Big 4 or comparable firm.
