We're currently seeking an Epidemiologist to join our diverse and dynamic Insights, Evidence & Value (IEV) team. In this role, you'll design and deliver observational research, analyze complex healthcare data, collaborate with global clients, and generate high-quality evidence that informs healthcare decision-making around the world.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Epidemiologist at ICON, you will:

  • Design observational studies, including developing study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study design reports in collaboration with clients, clinical experts, statisticians, epidemiologists, and health economists.

  • Lead and manage observational research projects, including chart reviews and studies using secondary healthcare data.

  • Perform statistical programming, analyses, modelling, and interpretation of patient-level data using SAS and/or R.

  • Produce high-quality tables, figures, graphs, reports, publications, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentation materials.

  • Design or contribute to questionnaires, case report forms, consent forms, and other data collection tools.

  • Source and evaluate secondary datasets, cost estimates, and other data required for epidemiological and health economic research.

  • Ensure quality throughout all stages of project delivery by performing quality assurance activities.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, client communications, and financial performance.

  • Support proposal development, business development initiatives, and client presentations.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to the growth of ICON's Insights, Evidence & Value business.

  • Mentor and support colleagues, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the team.

  • Work proactively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality research on time and to the highest scientific standards.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and deliver greater value for clients.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • An MSc or PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related discipline, or a BSc with significant relevant experience.

  • Approximately 5–7 years of relevant epidemiology experience, including at least 3 years in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, healthcare consultancy, or public health environment.

  • Experience working with patient-level healthcare data and observational research methodologies.

  • Strong statistical programming skills using SAS and/or R.

  • Experience designing and delivering epidemiological studies from concept through to reporting and publication.

  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and project management skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information clearly.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive client and stakeholder relationships.

  • A collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to mentor others and contribute to team success.

  • An interest in healthcare decision-making, real-world evidence, and outcomes research.

  • Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 15%) as required.
