What are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Consultant with 3–5 years of environmental permitting experience to join our growing environmental team. The successful candidate will support a range of industrial, infrastructure, waste, energy, and development projects by managing environmental permitting applications, regulatory compliance, and client relationships.

What you will do
- Prepare and manage environmental permit applications, variations and supporting documentation in line with current environmental legislation.
- Work directly with the Environment Agency, statutory authorities and other regulators throughout the permitting process.
- Carry out environmental assessments and technical reviews to support permit applications and regulatory submissions.
- Advise clients on environmental compliance, permitting strategies and regulatory best practice.
- Produce clear, high-quality technical reports, compliance documentation and permit variation applications.Support environmental due diligence, compliance reviews and regulatory audits where required.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard.Keep up to date with changes in environmental legislation and translate these into practical guidance for clients and colleagues.
- Build strong client relationships and support business development, proposals and new project opportunities.
Who you are
- Degree-qualified in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- Bring around 3–5 years’ experience within environmental consultancy, with a strong focus on environmental permitting.
- Have hands-on experience preparing environmental permit applications and liaising with environmental regulators.
- Have a solid understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Confident preparing technical reports and communicating complex environmental requirements in a clear, practical way.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- A confident communicator who enjoys working with clients, regulators and wider project teams.
- Ideally have experience within waste, industrial emissions, water or energy permitting.
- Experience with EIA, environmental management systems, GIS or environmental modelling would be an advantage.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, or progress towards Chartership, would also be welcomed.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling to sites when required.
