Job Description: The Enrollment Apprentice at Arcadia Abroad is part of the Enrollment Management & Institutional Engagement operations of the college. The apprentice's primary responsibility is to represent Arcadia Abroad programs at institutions and work directly with students. The objectives of the role are to help increase awareness, recognition, and reputation of the Arcadia Abroad programs; recruit students by supporting student program selection; maximize conversion of inquiries to applicants; and maximize student satisfaction by providing strong service and relations. Apprentices will work with teams across Arcadia Abroad to gain exposure to and practical experience in a variety of functions within the field of international education and, specifically, study abroad. Qualified applicants must have experience studying abroad. This position is remote-based in the United States.

Arcadia Abroad developed the Enrollment Apprentice position in 2012 to contribute to the field, invest in the next generation of International Educators, and further the mission and values of the institution. Our goal is to provide recent graduates with practical experience, opportunities for career advancement, and better pay as their knowledge and skills increase. The program includes a mix of hands-on experiences, project-based work, collaborative opportunities, and mentorship from professionals in the field.

Arcadia Abroad has three exciting positions available for recent graduates wishing to build their skills in study abroad and recruitment. These full-time Enrollment Apprentice positions span eight months and offer mentorship from experienced team members, training on organizational systems and processes, and valuable experience with a top study abroad provider. You will engage with teams across the organization, interact with Senior Leadership, and engage with students interested in studying abroad. You will be asked to bring enthusiasm and professionalism to your work as you travel to events and fairs within a designated region.

Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment and Admissions: 75%

  • Present and discuss Arcadia Abroad programs to students through staffing both in-person and virtual study abroad fairs, information sessions, individual advising sessions, and other student-facing activities.
  • Maintain regular contact with students and follow up on inquiries from a variety of sources in a timely manner through email, phone, texting, webinars, and other means.
  • Provide support in the admissions process, including answering student questions and transmitting applications.
  • Keep abreast of Arcadia Abroad's services and programs through reading the literature, studying the website, and participating in US and overseas-based meetings and training programs.
  • Help support key engagement, outreach, and recruitment projects, including the Alumni Ambassador program, Study Abroad fair coordination, Social Media, info sessions, Open Advising, and other outreach initiatives.

Cross-Departmental Projects: 20%

  • Assisting, cross-functionally, other teams at Arcadia Abroad on projects as assigned. Teams may include Advising and Student Engagement, Health & Safety, Academic Affairs, Operations, Data Analytics and Strategic Planning, and Marketing & Lead Generation.

Administration: 5%

  • Use the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to manage inquiries and produce reports incorporating key institutional statistical information regarding student activity.
  • Update and maintain Recruiting Events in CRM
  • Complete projects requiring key data collection around institutional engagement
  • Logistical planning of travel
  • Submit reports in a timely manner
  • Attend team meetings
  • Reconcile all expenses monthly

Accountabilities and Performance Measures:

  • Responds to inquiries in a timely manner as defined by supervisor
  • Successful management of CRM Events and Reports.
  • Showing initiative and interest (projects, networking opportunities, etc).
  • Working remotely- Successfully building community and connections with colleagues.
  • Time management, problem-solving, and developing an independent work style.
  • Actively contributes to the Enrollment Apprentice team by demonstrating initiative, fostering collaboration, and sharing project leadership responsibilities.

Job Conditions: This job requires frequent travel (100+ days/year on the road), including some late night, early morning, and weekend travel.

Marginal Functions: Participating in projects for Arcadia Abroad as needed to reach enrollment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience studying abroad is required; Arcadia Abroad program experience is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license, the ability to lift 50-pound boxes, and to travel overnight and on weekends.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of traditional office hours
