Role Overview:
This field-based role provides on-site support for PacBio’s innovative third-generation DNA sequencing platforms across the EMEA region. Key responsibilities include system installation, performance validation, and ongoing maintenance, repair, and upgrades at customer locations.

The position requires adaptability, extensive travel, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and customer service skills and thrive in both independent and team-based settings.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair PacBio equipment at customer sites.
  • Accurately document service activities and expenses in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain a dependable spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with Territory Account Managers and Field Application Specialists to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Mentor and train junior and new service engineers.
  • Develop and optimize operational procedures and processes.
  • Share field insights by contributing to the knowledge base and communicating with the FSE team.
  • Provide detailed feedback and analysis of field issues to Technical Support and service management.
  • Author and refine service documentation, including alignment, replacement, and upgrade protocols.

 
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of biochemistry, biology, and/or life sciences.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS, networking, and general computer hardware/software.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent French and English.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Based in the Paris, France area.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

 
Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in servicing or supporting complex electromechanical or chemical equipment, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with life sciences instrumentation, particularly DNA sequencing technology, is highly advantageous.

 
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
