Summary of Position Functions


The Software Engineer will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy’s technology products and building automation solutions. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize software applications meant to improve client energy and operational efficiency. The engineer will leverage knowledge of various programming languages to develop software programs and ensure software is robust and functional.

Essential Position Functions

  • Analyze user needs and workflows.
  • Design, test, and develop software to meet user needs and workflows.
  • Identify and recommend upgrades to existing systems and programs.
  • Create flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate intended infrastructure workflows.
  • Document design decisions.
  • Analyze large amounts of data and build data pipelines to enrich user experience
  • Develop custom machine learning approaches to digest large data sets and recommend operational improvements.
  • Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of software solutions.
  • Assist project teams with the creation of design and construction documents related to software solutions.
  • Respond to and rectify customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner

Education and Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical, or Software or related field 
  • 0-3 years in building automation system design and implementation.
  • 0-3 years in software development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Detail-oriented multi-tasker 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and diplomatic communication skills
  • Strong collaborative skills; ability to collaborate with other engineers to methodically solve complex problems.
  • Outgoing, energetic self-starter 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience with at least one CAD or 3D modeling software 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Experience with Python, Javascript, and AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • May require some travel
