Energy Storage Engineer

About the role: This is a remote position

We are looking for an Energy Storage Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. (W-2) You will have responsibility of planning, designing, and executing various aspects of energy storage projects. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, engineering oversight and consulting across cross functional teams to deliver a best-in-class product. The ideal candidate embodies a blend of technical expertise with strong project management skills and has pertinent experience the energy storage field. You will report to the onsite manager.

Location: Remote position

1-year contract assignment. (W-2)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.

• Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.

• Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.

• Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.

• Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers.

• Influence project teams on engineering tasks.

• Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.

• Manage project milestones and recognize risks.

• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.

• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.

• Travel 25% of the time for project specific responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• 3+ Years experience Solar/PV Engineering and/or Construction.

• Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design,

Substation design, Generation tie design.

• Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion

units, and DC/DC converters.

• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).

• Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.

• Ability to handle specialized technical tasks.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $65.00/hr. to $70.00/hr.
