Responsibilities
Deliver expert legal counsel on Employment and Education Law to various Council departments and senior stakeholders.
Handle a diverse range of cases, including intricate employment and education law issues.
Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, agreements, reports, and correspondence.
Represent the Council in Employment Tribunals, Courts, Inquiries, Hearings, and other legal proceedings.
Provide guidance on legislative changes, case law updates, and new legal challenges impacting the Council.
Conduct thorough legal research and offer practical solutions to enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
Post-qualification experience as a Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer specializing in Employment and Education Law.
Proven experience in advocacy, case preparation, and delivering legal advice.
Competence in managing a legal caseload effectively.
Experience in local government is advantageous.
Essential Qualifications Required
Must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX).
Possession of a current practising certificate, if applicable.
Additional Information
Working hours are 35 hours per week.
The role supports remote working.
Payments are processed bi-weekly.
