The Employee Communications, Change Management Lead will partner closely with business leaders, Communications, People Teams, project and program leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders to plan and deliver communications across a range of initiatives, including organizational transformation, operating model changes, technology implementations, process changes, and other business priorities.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in change and employee communications, understands how business and organizational changes affect different audiences, and can independently lead complex communications work from planning through execution. This individual is skilled at navigating ambiguity, solving communication challenges, and influencing stakeholders to align around effective approaches.

About the Role:

Change Management Communications Strategy

  • Develop and execute change communication strategies and plans for complex, cross-functional business and organizational initiatives.
  • Translate business strategies, transformation programs, and organizational changes into clear narratives that explain what is changing, why it matters, what it means for employees, and what action is needed.
  • Assess audiences, impacts, communication needs, risks, and opportunities to determine appropriate messaging, channels, sequencing, and engagement approaches.
  • Build integrated communication plans that support employees throughout the change journey, from awareness and understanding through adoption and reinforcement.
  • Apply change management communications best practices while adapting approaches to the specific needs of the business, initiative, and audience.
  • Identify communication challenges and develop solutions that improve employee understanding, engagement, and readiness for change.

Messaging & Content Development

  • Develop clear and compelling messaging frameworks and narratives for complex or sensitive changes.
  • Create communications for multiple audiences and channels, including executive and leader communications, employee emails, articles, FAQs, talking points, presentations, toolkits, intranet content, and targeted communications.
  • Translate complex business, organizational, process, and technology information into simple, employee-centered communications.
  • Adapt messaging for executives, people leaders, impacted teams, and broader employee audiences while maintaining consistency in the core narrative.
  • Anticipate employee questions and concerns and incorporate that perspective into messaging and communications planning.
  • Ensure communications connect individual changes to relevant business priorities and the broader employee experience.

Leader & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Serve as a communications advisor to business leaders, project teams, and other stakeholders leading significant change.
  • Provide recommendations on communication strategy, messaging, timing, sequencing, audience needs, and potential employee response.
  • Develop leader communication and cascade approaches that equip managers to explain change, answer questions, and support their teams.
  • Build productive relationships across Communications, People, Transformation, Technology, and business teams to drive aligned communication outcomes.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly, anticipate potential objections, and influence stakeholders toward effective communication approaches.
  • Navigate competing perspectives and priorities to build consensus and move communications forward.

Change Engagement & Adoption

  • Partner with change management and program teams to integrate communications into broader change and adoption plans.
  • Identify key employee moments throughout a change initiative and develop communications that support understanding and action at each stage.
  • Help establish feedback loops that surface employee questions, concerns, and sentiment and use those insights to improve communication approaches.
  • Develop reinforcement communications that sustain awareness and adoption following major milestones or launches.
  • Recommend adjustments when employee feedback or business conditions indicate a different communication approach is needed.

Planning, Execution & Measurement

  • Independently lead communication workstreams for multiple complex initiatives, managing stakeholders, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop communication roadmaps, editorial plans, stakeholder review processes, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate activities across communications partners, project teams, and channel owners to ensure effective execution.
  • Identify communication risks, dependencies, and gaps and proactively develop solutions.
  • Measure communication effectiveness using available engagement, feedback, sentiment, and adoption data.
  • Apply insights and lessons learned to improve future change communications, processes, and practices.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, templates, standards, and best practices that strengthen change communications across the team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, change communications, organizational change management, employee communications, or a related field.
  • Depth of experience developing and executing communications for complex organizational, business, technology, or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Experience developing communications for a range of audiences, including employees, people leaders, executives, and impacted stakeholder groups.
