本ポジションは、ElsevierのAdvanced Data Solutionsチームに所属し、主にDatasetsおよびSciBiteのソリューションを中心に、データ・ソフトウェアの提案および導入支援を担います。

本チームはグローバル組織として、Sales・Post-Sales・Professional Servicesと連携しながら、エンタープライズ顧客への提案・導入を支援しています。

Consultant（R&D Solutions）として、顧客プロジェクトの推進およびチームのリードを担当いただきます。

顧客ニーズを理解し、ソリューション提案（Pre-Sales）から導入支援、成果報告まで一貫して関与します。

東京勤務を基本としつつ、適任者には国内リモート勤務も相談可能です。

• 顧客要件のヒアリングおよび課題の把握
• 顧客ニーズに基づいたソリューション提案・設計
• プロジェクトの計画・推進および関係者の調整
• プレセールスから導入後までの顧客対応
• データサイエンス分野（ケミインフォマティクス／バイオインフォマティクス等）の知見を活用した支援
• 市場・技術トレンドおよび競合の把握
• プロダクト戦略・改善へのフィードバック

■ 応募要件

• 理系分野（生命科学、データサイエンス等）の修士以上、または同等の知識・経験
• Pythonなど、いずれかのプログラミング経験
• 日本語および英語：ビジネスレベル
• 高いコミュニケーション力・分析力・プレゼン能力

■ 歓迎スキル

• 製薬・化学業界、創薬に関する知識
• 研究環境（アカデミア／企業）での業務経験

About Our Team

This role sits within Elsevier’s Advanced Data Solutions team, responsible for selling and supporting the implementation of Elsevier’s data and software solutions, with a focus on Datasets and SciBite offerings.

Technical Consultants (Pre-Sales) report to the Global Director of Technical Consulting (Pre-Sales) and operate regionally across North America, EMEA, and APAC (primarily Japan).

The team works closely with Sales, Post-Sales, and Professional Services to support enterprise engagements.

Our solutions are already deployed across top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, as well as organizations in other industries where data-driven insights and advanced analytics are critical.

Position Overview

As a Consultant, R&D Solutions, you will lead customer projects and deliver data-driven solutions from pre-sales through implementation.

You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, shape solutions, and guide projects through delivery. This includes presenting solutions during pre-sales, supporting execution, and demonstrating outcomes at project completion.

You will report to the Senior Director of Consulting (Amsterdam, Netherlands).

Location: Tokyo (remote within Japan negotiable for the right candidate)

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
• Lead and coordinate project delivery, including stakeholders and internal teams
• Present solutions in pre-sales discussions and support customer engagements throughout execution
• Stay up to date with scientific, market, and competitive developments relevant to customers
• Apply expertise in data science, cheminformatics, or bioinformatics to support data-driven decision-making
• Use structured project management processes and tools to drive delivery
• Contribute to the development and execution of Elsevier’s product and dataset strategy

Requirements

• Advanced degree in life sciences, data science, cheminformatics, or bioinformatics
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English
• Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical or chemical industries and drug discovery
• Experience working in a research environment (academic or commercial)
• Experience applying data science to real-world problem solving
