WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

Ascend Learning is hiring an Eligibility Audit Specialist. This role is responsible for verifying and validating essential documentation to confirm customer identity, educational and/or work qualifications to ultimately determine and confirm eligibility for high-stakes certification exams. This role ensures compliance with external accreditation requirements, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to mitigate risk and maintain organizational integrity. This position requires a detail-oriented, strong multi-tasker, capable of working under spikes of heavy workload, managing communication with customers over phone and email.

 

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

 

This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States, supporting Eastern time zone business hours.

 

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

 

  • Review and verify customer identity documents (e.g., government-issued IDs, passports, social security numbers) to ensure authenticity and completeness.
  • Authenticate educational credentials such as diplomas, transcripts, certifications, and licenses through direct contact with issuing institutions or use of third-party verification services as needed.
  • Assess eligibility criteria for exams by reviewing application materials against predefined standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of verification activities and document findings in tracking systems while ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders (HR, legal, compliance, operations, exam security, etc.) as needed to address missing documentation, compliance gaps, discrepancies, or possible attempts to circumvent audit.
  • Provide training or support to other team members on verification procedures and compliance requirements.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • 2+ years of customer-facing support experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience creating and updating technical documentation.
  • Strong customer-oriented communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a highly organized approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Experience logging customer interactions in a CRM environment.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree+ preferred.
