Why Join RQ Construction?

  • Work on complex federal and military construction projects valued from several million dollars to over $100 million.
  • Be a key contributor to project pursuit strategy, estimate development, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with experienced estimators, operations leaders, engineers, and project teams across the country.

  • Remote work flexibility for qualified candidates.
  • Opportunity to directly influence project wins and company growth.

What You'll Do

  • Develop detailed electrical estimates for Design-Build, negotiated, and competitive bid projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze plans, specifications, RFPs, and design documents.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop complete and competitive proposals.
  • Participate in estimate reviews, bid strategy discussions, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts.
  • Identify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Support bid-day activities and collaborate with operations teams during project turnover.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, electrical construction, project engineering, field supervision, or a related construction role.
  • Experience preparing cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial, industrial, federal, or military construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction means and methods, labor productivity, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience with estimating software such as McCormick, Accubid, Bluebeam, ConEst, Planswift, or similar platforms.
  • Federal, DoD, Design-Build, and NEC experience is highly preferred.
