Economic Impact Assessment Analyst (State / Regulatory)

AlphaGov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a AlphaGov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.

We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits - not speculative staffing banks.

This role is for economic impact analysts for state/regulatory pursuits (for example, CA Department of Cannabis Control Economic Impact Assessment RFP 26-001).

What you'll do:

- Lead or support economic impact assessments for state agencies and regulators

- Build transparent impact models (direct/indirect/induced; employment, output, tax, industry effects) with documented assumptions

- Synthesize industry, labor, and administrative data; write policy-ready findings and recommendations

- Present methods and results to agency sponsors and stakeholders

- Contribute economic-impact content and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals (when permissioned)

Requirements

Required:

- Hands-on economic impact assessment, I-O / REMI / IMPLAN (or equivalent) modeling, or state regulatory economic analysis delivery

- Ability to produce reproducible methods, clear limitations, and policy-ready reports

- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed

Nice to have:

- Prior California state agency or regulated-industry economic analysis

- Cannabis / alcohol / regulated-product market analysis

- Advanced degree in economics, public policy, or related
