Lead the Assessment domain by driving market expansion, revenue growth, and go-to-market strategies. Manage a team of product managers to modernize the platform and ensure customer retention across K-12 and higher education segments.

At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers.
We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome. And that's where you come in:

We're looking for an experienced Director of Product Management to lead the Assessment domain. This role is accountable for market expansion, revenue growth, and go-to-market strategy across the Assessments domain. You will also hold accountability for platform modernization, customer retention, and the change management required to evolve a product that school districts and universities have built their workflows around.

This is a role for someone who thrives in full strategic ownership at the product line level — business cases, market opportunity assessment, competitive positioning, and annual planning. You operate across the organization, with executives, sales leaders, and cross-functional partners as your primary stakeholders. Your output is a strategy that earns investment and revenue that proves it right.

What you will need to know/have:

  • Own the product retention and growth strategy for our Assessments domain, from opportunity identification, to iterative delivery, go-to-market execution, to value adoption

  • Develop product strategy for new capabilities, new customer segments, and entry into adjacent markets

  • Lead a team of Product Managers that operates AI-first, coaching PMs to compress time-to-validation, sharpen decisions, and drive delivery velocity

  • Partner directly with customers around the world – institutions of every size, K-12 and higher ed, alike, to represent their voice in every decision

  • Shape product direction and investment priorities through competitive analysis and market intelligence, holding accountability for growth, retention, and adoption metrics

  • Contribute to annual planning, aligning domain growth investments with organizational priorities and resource constraints; maintain regular progress and achievement reporting against plan

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, customer success, analytics, and the broader R&D organization to align on priorities, successful GTM strategies, and ensure product investments are tied to business goals and results

  • Communicate growth strategy to executive stakeholders, building conviction for investment and alignment across teams

What you will need to know/have:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with a track record of running a product line at meaningful scale – ideally in SaaS, EdTech, or comparable enterprise B2B environments

  • Experience leading and developing PM teams, not just managing them

  • East coast US preferred

  • Ability to travel ~25% of the time

  • Proven ownership of retention, ARR, and growth outcomes

  • A point of view on AI in education technology

  • An innovative spirit and the willingness to challenge what's already there
