Director, Pathology Services

In the Companion Diagnostics Business (CDx), our team partners very closely with leading biopharma companies to develop, manufacture and commercialize highly regulated medical devices which are critical for physicians to help select therapies for their patients. 

  

• Manage project assignments for Agilent pathologists and overall workload  

• Oversee the Pathology Services team, including slide shipment coordination and consultant pathologists, schedules, workload and project assignments 

• Develop and manage workflow process for pathology and for contribution to companion diagnostics clinical trials 

• Collaborate with Clinical, R&D, Regulatory and QA to meet companion diagnostic biopharma partner project needs and timelines 

• Oversight of pathologists ICQ tissue samples review, develop scoring algorithms and provide experienced guidance for Agilent companion diagnostic assay development 

• Prepare digital pathology strategy for pathologist assay scoring training and support digital image analysis 

• Collaborate with commercial initiatives for product launches 

• Contribute to and present on future directions of growth opportunities with biopharma partners 

• Oversee the IQC evaluation of tissue samples for Agilent CDx assays 

• PI “Protocol for Reagent Optimization and In Vitro Diagnostic Assay Development” at Agilent R&D lab 

• Ensuring IRB/IEC review of study information for initial and continuing approval of the study 
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree and/or higher education 

• Prior experience working in a pathology setting and understanding workflow issues 

• 10+ years cancer diagnostic assay experience including IHC 

• Management and companion diagnostic development experience 

• Participate in cross functional team meetings representing Pathology

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $187,721.00 - $328,950.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
