Position Summary:
The Director of Global Volunteer Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and enhancing our global volunteer programs. This individual will develop and implement comprehensive strategies to engage, support, and mobilize volunteers across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with Greater Good Charities’ mission and goals. The role requires a visionary leader with exceptional organizational skills, a passion for community service, and a proven track record in volunteer management and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a global volunteer management strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and enhances volunteer engagement and impact.
• Program Development: Design and implement innovative volunteer programs and initiatives that address global challenges and maximize volunteer contribution.
• Volunteer Recruitment and Retention: Create and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and retain a diverse pool of volunteers, ensuring an inclusive and positive experience for all participants.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs and resources to equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively contribute to our initiatives.
• Regional Coordination: Work closely with regional teams to ensure cohesive and effective volunteer management across different locations, adapting strategies to local needs and contexts.
• Partnerships and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to enhance volunteer opportunities and maximize impact.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of volunteer programs, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.
• Communication: Lead efforts to communicate the value and impact of volunteer contributions through various channels, including reports, social media, and internal communications.
• Resource Management: Oversee the budgeting and allocation of resources for volunteer programs, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds and materials.
Required Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in volunteer management.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective volunteer programs and strategies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with data analysis and performance metrics to drive decision-making and program improvements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with volunteer management software and other relevant tools (Rosterfy preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel 25% and work a flexible schedule when needed after hours and on weekends.
