About the Role
The Head of Marketing, India will lead the marketing strategy for HARMAN’s consumer audio portfolio, with a strong focus on JBL and Harman Kardon, driving both brand growth and business performance. The role is responsible for building impactful brand and trade marketing programs that strengthen market presence, accelerate revenue growth, and enhance long-term brand equity. This leader will drive integrated campaigns, product launches, and omnichannel marketing initiatives across retail, digital, and e-commerce platforms. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product, Finance, eCommerce, and regional leadership teams, along with the ability to lead high-performing teams and agency partners in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
1. Brand Strategy & Integrated Marketing
- Define and execute a strong brand vision for JBL and Harman Kardon in India, aligning global positioning with local relevance to drive premiumization, scale, and category growth
- Lead integrated omnichannel marketing and communications across digital, retail, PR, and influencer touchpoints, ensuring consistency and impact
- Balance short-term commercial goals with long-term brand equity, creating emotional consumer connections that sustain market leadership
2. Trade Marketing & Channel Excellence
- Drive trade marketing strategies that accelerate sell-out across traditional retail, modern trade, e-commerce, and D2C
- Deliver best-in-class retail execution through merchandising, in-store experience, and point-of-sale excellence
- Partner closely with Sales and Product teams to execute 360° launch plans and optimize channel-specific programs and MDF investments for ROI
3. Financial Management & Performance Optimization
- Own marketing budget allocation with strong P&L understanding, ensuring investments are directed to highest-impact initiatives
- Build and evaluate business cases with clear ROI frameworks and success metrics
- Track, analyze, and optimize marketing performance against business, financial, and consumer KPIs
4. Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Intelligence
- Collaborate across Sales, Finance, Product, and global teams to align strategies and deliver business outcomes in a matrix organization
- Translate market insights, consumer trends, and competitive intelligence into actionable strategies
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous capability development
What You Need to Be Successful:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in marketing, brand management, or commercial roles within multinational environments, with a strong track record of building consumer brands and delivering business results; includes 5+ years of team leadership and talent development in matrix organizations aligned to global brand standards
- Deep functional expertise across product and brand marketing, including successful end-to-end product launches, trade marketing, and channel development across retail and digital ecosystems, with a clear focus on driving sell-out and sustained brand equity
- Strong financial acumen with solid understanding of P&L dynamics, ROI-driven marketing investments, and the ability to build credible business cases while balancing short-term revenue delivery with long-term strategic brand growth
- Strategic and execution-focused leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Product), navigating complex organizations, driving change, and quickly adapting to new markets, categories, and business challenges
Bonus Points if You Have:
- Experience in consumer electronics (audio/headphones) or broader consumer-facing sectors like FMCG/durables, with strong brand marketing and Indian market understanding
- Strong digital and eCommerce expertise, including deep familiarity with India’s digital landscape, consumer behavior, and agency-led creative development
- Bilingual proficiency (English & Hindi) with ability to operate effectively across diverse stakeholders and market contexts
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred

- Willingness to travel domestically within India and internationally as required (including regional meetings, global conferences, and customer visits)
- Legal right to work in India
- Based in or willing to relocate to major metro location (Mumbai, Delhi NCR, or Bangalore preferred)
