Director, Infrastructure Operations

Solovis builds portfolio management and analytics software for institutional investors: the endowments, foundations, family offices, and asset managers responsible for some of the most complex capital in the world. We are backed by Insight Partners and growing fast, investing in product, people, and the client outcomes that drive retention and expansion.

The team is sharp and moves with purpose. AI is core to how we operate. If you think in systems, learn quickly, and want your work to matter at an infrastructure level, you’ll find a home here.

The Role

The Director of Infrastructure Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for establishing and owning the infrastructure and IT strategy that underpins Solovis’s growth. This individual will define the governance frameworks, security posture, and operational standards that enable our engineering and product teams to move with speed and confidence. The role spans cloud infrastructure policy, IT operations, security and compliance, and the organizational buildout required to support a scaling SaaS business.

This role requires both the technical depth to be hands-on and the strategic perspective to build the function that scales beyond it. In the near term, this individual will be directly involved in the work — establishing standards, making architectural decisions, and operating within a lean team. Over time, the expectation is to hire and develop the infrastructure organization beneath them. The right candidate has built or significantly matured an infrastructure function before and understands what it takes to operate reliably at scale.

What We Offer

  • A real mandate. This role carries full ownership of infrastructure strategy and IT operations, with the authority and organizational support to build the function from the ground up.
  • Institutional backing. Insight Partners and ST6 bring capital, networks, and operational depth. We have the resources to do this right.
  • An AI-native environment. Solovis is actively building an AI spine across the organization. This role will be a key voice in how that infrastructure is architected and governed.
  • A seat at the table. This is a director-level role with direct visibility to senior leadership. Infrastructure decisions made here will have meaningful, lasting impact on how Solovis operates and scales.

What You’ll Own

  • Cloud governance and infrastructure standards. Establish the policies, standards, and controls governing how engineering and DevOps teams provision and operate cloud infrastructure across the organization.
  • Security and compliance. Lead the development and execution of Solovis’s security strategy, including compliance certifications, risk management, and the controls required to meet the standards of our institutional client base. This is the organization’s most immediate infrastructure priority.
  • IT strategy and operations. Oversee IT operations including the help desk function, vendor relationships, and budget management, ensuring the internal environment is reliable, well-governed, and aligned to business needs.
  • Infrastructure reliability. Define and maintain the monitoring, incident response, and operational processes required to sustain 99.99% uptime across our hosting environment.
  • AI readiness. Serve as a senior voice in how AI tooling and platforms are integrated into Solovis’s infrastructure model, with increasing responsibility as the organization’s AI strategy matures.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strategic operator. Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure and IT at the strategic level; setting direction, establishing governance, and enabling engineering teams to operate with autonomy within a well-defined framework.
  • Security fluency. Meaningful experience owning security and compliance programs in a SaaS or enterprise environment, with a track record of navigating certifications and building durable security practices.
  • Broad IT leadership. Prior leadership of a full-scope IT function, including help desk operations, vendor management, and budget accountability, with the operational breadth this role requires.
  • AI familiarity. Sufficient familiarity with AI tools and concepts to make sound infrastructure decisions in an organization actively integrating AI across its operations. This will become an increasingly important dimension of the role.
  • Maturity under pressure. The composure and judgment to operate effectively under ambiguity, communicate clearly with senior leadership during high-stakes situations, and make sound decisions without requiring a fully defined playbook.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in IT or infrastructure leadership, including experience at the director or senior manager level
  • Experience leading cloud governance or infrastructure policy across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Prior ownership of IT operations including help desk, vendor management, and budget
  • Security compliance ownership (SOC 2, ISO, or similar) in a SaaS environment is a strong plus
  • M&A integration experience is a strong plus, particularly with software organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Who Won’t Thrive Here

If you’re looking for a fully defined org to step into, a team that’s already firing on all cylinders, or a company where IT is a cost center rather than a growth enabler — this is not that. We operate more like a gym than a spa.

If that’s the environment where you do your best work, we want to talk.

Interview Process

We want this to be a great fit on both sides. If you move forward, you’ll complete a short set of assessments before connecting with our recruiter. From there, the process includes a topgrading interview, a hiring manager conversation, a practical work product exercise, and a final interview. We use the work product to understand how you think — not to find a perfect answer.

If this matches where you are in your career and what you want to build next, we’d like to hear from you.
