The Director of Information Technology will own the firm's internal IT infrastructure, security framework, and day-to-day technology operations. They will manage vendor relationships, oversee device lifecycles, and develop scalable technology roadmaps to support the firm's growth.
Director of Information Technology
Waylin Partners, a leading provider of FP&A, data, and accounting consulting services, is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead and manage the firm’s internal technology infrastructure, security, and IT operations.
In this role, you will own Waylin’s day-to-day technology environment while helping build the systems, processes, and security framework needed to support a growing, fully remote organization. You will partner closely with firm leadership, Operations, and Talent while managing external technology vendors and serving as the primary internal point of contact for IT.
This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable setting technology strategy and rolling up their sleeves to solve day-to-day technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Own the firm’s internal IT environment, including hardware, software, identity and access management, endpoint management, networking, and cloud-based systems
Manage the full technology lifecycle for employees, including laptop procurement, configuration, deployment, onboarding, support, replacement, and offboarding
Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, and other core business applications
Manage device enrollment, configuration, patching, compliance, and endpoint security across a fully remote workforce
Develop and maintain standardized IT onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure timely provisioning and removal of system access
Own cybersecurity strategy and controls, including endpoint protection, MFA, access policies, vulnerability management, incident response, and employee security awareness
Manage relationships with third-party IT providers, software vendors, and security partners, including monitoring service levels and holding vendors accountable for performance
Establish and maintain IT policies, documentation, asset inventories, access controls, and technology standards
Partner with leadership to evaluate and implement new technology, automation, AI, and productivity tools
Support technology requirements related to client security reviews, compliance initiatives, cyber insurance, and other information security requests
Develop a scalable technology roadmap that supports the firm’s continued growth

Managing laptop deployment and technology onboarding for new hires across a fully remote workforce
Building a standardized device lifecycle program for procurement, deployment, inventory management, replacement, and secure decommissioning
Managing Microsoft Intune and Entra ID policies for device management, authentication, and access
Monitoring endpoint compliance, security updates, patching, and vulnerability remediation
Evaluating the firm’s cybersecurity posture and implementing improvements to reduce risk
Managing and evaluating the performance of the firm’s managed service provider and other technology vendors
Improving onboarding and offboarding automation across Microsoft 365 and other business systems
Evaluating new software and AI tools for security, functionality, integration, and business value
Developing disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response procedures
Leading technology projects such as system migrations, software implementations, security enhancements, and vendor transitions
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
6+ years of experience in information technology, IT operations, infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, or related roles
Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, Intune, Teams, and Windows environments
Experience with endpoint management, device deployment, identity and access management, patch management, and cybersecurity tools
Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including MFA, conditional access, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, phishing prevention, and incident response
Experience managing MSPs and other third-party technology vendors
Experience supporting a remote or geographically distributed workforce strongly preferred
Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues while also developing scalable processes and long-term technology strategy
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and risks to non-technical stakeholders
High degree of ownership, judgment, and discretion when working with confidential company and employee information
