About the Role

As Director, Healthcare Growth, you will be responsible for developing and executing AEQ's commercial strategy for our Healthcare Innovation business.

You will identify market opportunities, build relationships with healthcare leaders, create strategic partnerships, lead consultative sales engagements, and secure our first generation of lighthouse customers.

Working closely with our executive, product, design, and engineering teams, you will translate market needs into scalable solutions while helping define how AEQ grows its healthcare business.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will help shape strategy, but your primary responsibility is originating, developing, and closing new business opportunities.

What You'll Do

Build Our Healthcare Business

  • Develop and execute AEQ's healthcare go-to-market strategy.

  • Identify high-value market opportunities across hospitals, health authorities, universities, research institutions, and healthcare organizations.

  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.

  • Secure lighthouse customers that establish market credibility.

  • Develop repeatable sales and market development playbooks.

Lead Consultative Sales

  • Lead executive discovery workshops.

  • Understand customer workflows, operational challenges, and workforce development priorities.

  • Shape tailored AI and VR solutions with AEQ's product and technical teams.

  • Develop business cases and ROI models.

  • Navigate complex procurement and stakeholder environments.

  • Negotiate and close strategic opportunities.

Build Strategic Relationships

Develop relationships with:

  • Health authorities

  • Hospitals

  • Academic medical centres

  • Universities

  • Clinical education leaders

  • Innovation teams

  • Government organizations

  • Healthcare associations

Develop partnerships that accelerate market access, credibility, and customer acquisition.

Influence Product Direction

Serve as the voice of the customer.

Collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and leadership to:

  • validate market opportunities

  • prioritize customer needs

  • refine product positioning

  • improve commercial offerings

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months you will:

  • Develop AEQ's healthcare GTM strategy.

  • Build a strong qualified pipeline.

  • Win our first generation of lighthouse healthcare customers.

  • Establish strategic partnerships that accelerate growth.

  • Help refine AEQ's healthcare product strategy based on market feedback.

  • Build a repeatable commercial playbook that can scale.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 8+ years of business development, enterprise sales, consulting, or commercial leadership experience.

  • Experience selling complex technology, software, consulting, or transformation services.

  • Demonstrated success developing new business—not simply managing existing accounts.

  • Experience selling into healthcare organizations or similarly regulated industries.

  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience leading consultative discovery with senior decision-makers.

  • Ability to navigate complex buying committees and long enterprise sales cycles.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and helping shape strategy.

Preferred
