What you'll do...At H&R Block, the Director, Creative plays a critical role in how our brand comes to life in the market. This leader owns the creative vision and output across all marketing—ensuring our work is distinctive, high-quality, and aligned to our brand strategy while performing effectively across channels.
Operating at the intersection of brand, strategy, and execution, this role translates brand strategy into compelling creative systems, campaigns, and content that resonate with customers and drive business outcomes. This leader partners closely with Brand Strategy, Go-To-Market (GTM), Content, and Media teams to deliver cohesive, integrated marketing experiences.
Success in this role means elevating the creative standard across the organization—delivering breakthrough ideas, ensuring consistency and impact across channels, and building a scalable, high-performing creative function.

Day to day you'll...
- Own the creative vision across all marketing, ensuring work is distinctive, high-quality, and aligned to brand strategy
- Define and evolve the creative expression of the brand across campaigns, channels, and customer touchpoints
- Lead development of breakthrough campaign concepts and creative platforms that connect with customers and drive results
- Partner with Brand Strategy and GTM teams to shape briefs, narratives, and integrated marketing initiatives
- Provide direction, guidance, and final approval on major creative work to ensure consistency and impact
- Own and manage relationships with external creative agencies—setting direction, evaluating output, and ensuring alignment to brand and business goals
- Define scalable creative and content systems that enable efficient execution across channels
- Ensure creative is platform-native, adaptable, and optimized for performance across digital, social, retail, and emerging channels
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing internal creative team across design, copy, and production
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure cohesive campaign execution and consistent brand storytelling across the enterprise
What you'll bring to the team...- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in creative leadership, advertising, or brand marketing
- Proven experience leading integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels
- Strong creative point of view with the ability to translate strategy into compelling, effective work
- Experience managing and inspiring creative teams across design, copy, and production
- Experience leading and partnering with external creative agencies
- Deep understanding of brand systems, storytelling, and content strategy
- Ability to balance creativity with performance and business goals
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across cross-functional teams
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
It would be even better if you also had...- Master of Business Administration
- Experience leading creative for a nationally recognized or multi-channel consumer brand
- Background working across both in-house and agency-side creative environments
- Demonstrated success developing distinctive brand platforms and breakthrough campaigns
- Experience building scalable content systems across digital, social, and retail channels
- Experience evolving or modernizing a brand’s creative identity or visual system

Pay Range InformationThe pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range$120,900.00 - $205,500.00/Yr.
