Sitting within the Product Marketing organization, you will direct a high-performing team responsible for our entire global content portfolio, spanning corporate web properties, editorial channels, digital, campaigns, and high-impact thought leadership initiatives. Orchestrating this comprehensive engine, you will translate complex technologies into compelling stories that establish market authority, elevate our website experience, and fuel full-funnel demand generation to engage developers and enterprise executives throughout their entire buyer journey.

Goals:

  • Elevate Thought Leadership & Authority: Create deeply insightful, industry-defining content that differentiates Fastly in the market and establishes our technical bench as trusted visionaries.
  • Optimize the Digital Web Experience: Ensure our corporate web properties are continuously enriched with high-quality, engaging content that clearly articulates our product value and drives visitor engagement.
  • Fuel Full-Funnel Conversion: Produce a balanced pipeline of asset and campaign content that supports both top-of-funnel brand awareness and tactical demand generation performance.
  • Translate Technical Complexity: Maintain deep technical accuracy while crafting universal, high-impact insights that resonate with both technical practitioners and business decision-makers.
  • Scale Responsibly with AI: Build a modern, high-velocity content operations model that leverages generative AI safely to support output and expand reach without sacrificing quality or brand voice.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and Mentor the Team: Directly manage a talented team of content creators and strategists, providing editorial vision and setting clear performance metrics across thought leadership initiatives, corporate web properties, editorial channels, and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Own the Global Editorial Strategy: Architect and oversee Fastly’s holistic content strategy, collaborating deeply with Product Marketing, Digital, Field Marketing, and Brand to align content with launch cycles and corporate priorities.
  • Direct Web and Campaign Content: Oversee the messaging architecture and copy execution for key corporate website pages, targeted landing pages, and integrated marketing campaigns to maximize digital engagement.
  • Drive High-Impact Thought Leadership: Transform Fastly’s unique data insights, security research, and technical innovations into proprietary reports, whitepapers, and executive perspectives that capture industry attention.
  • Optimize Modern Content Operations: Responsibly integrate generative AI tools into the content workflow to accelerate research, optimize SEO/AEO/GEO variations, and scale content while establishing clear guardrails for accuracy, original thought, and brand voice.
  • Manage External Pipelines: Work alongside your team to scale content velocity by cultivating a highly vetted stable of external agencies, technical freelancers, and subject-matter experts.
  • Support Flagship Events: Partner with the events and executive teams to ensure the content engine for first-party flagship events deliverables, presentations, and keynotes are high-impact and on-narrative.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience & Industry Scale: 10+ years of experience driving comprehensive content marketing programs (spanning thought leadership, web, and demand assets) for B2B technology, cloud, SaaS, or cybersecurity brands at scale.
  • Technical Storytelling Aptitude: A proven ability to interview deep technical experts, decipher complex infrastructure technology, and craft narratives that engage technical personas and business executives.
  • Content Operations & Modern Tooling: A proven track record of leveraging generative AI productivity tools responsibly, ensuring editorial integrity, protecting intellectual property, and keeping human creativity at the core of our messaging.
  • Design & Copy Collaboration: Experience working closely with creative and design teams, with a sharp eye for how visual layout and copy work together to improve readability and engagement.
  • Agency & Freelance Management: Proven success in sourcing, briefing, and managing external technical writers and agencies to deliver multi-medium projects on time and within budget.
