Summary of Position Responsibilities: Direct Care Providers are responsible for the day to day implementation of the program’s curriculum in a way that is appropriate for all clients in the class.  The Direct Care Provider is responsible for the organization, health and safety of the classroom as well as the clients.  The Direct Care Provider will organize appropriate lessons, activities and field trips that are beneficial to all clients.  The Direct Care Provider must maintain accurate records of client outcomes and attendance.  Essential Duties: 1.
Prepare weekly lesson, field trip and activity plans. 2.
Plan class activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmental levels, client age, program philosophy and client goals. 3.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet client’s varying needs and interests. 4.
Classroom environment should be in accordance with program goals and philosophy, as well as being safe and healthful. 5.
Meet the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of program participants. Interactions with clients should convey respect and nurturing. 6.
Report suspected abuse. 7.
Maintain open communication with parents/caregivers. 8.
Attend all staff meetings and in-services. 9.
Meet all applicable licensing regulations. 10.
Maintain all appropriate records, such as, client outcome sheets, attendance documents, class field trip logs and time sheets. 11.
Coordinate appropriate field trips and activities. 12.
Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis. 13.
Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible according to standards set by The Prosperity Path’s policies. 14.
Instruct clients in health and personal habits such as eating, personal hygiene and toilet habits. 15.
Attend to client’s basic needs, such as, feeding them, dressing them and changing their diapers, if applicable. 16.
Establish and consistently enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintain order. 17.
Enforce all administrative policies, procedures and regulations governing clients and their rights. Work Schedule: The schedule for regular Direct Care Services Providers varies widely and will be worked out between the employee and the Administrative Director at the time of hire. Direct Supervisor’s Title:  Administrative Director and Program Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) Positions Supervised:  Classroom Volunteers
