The Direct Bill Analyst plays a key role in managing and reconciling direct bill insurance brokerage commissions and billing processes across
Property & Casualty (P&C) and Life & Health (L&H) lines. This position involves collecting and reconciling commission statements, verifying
revenue receipts, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring accurate financial records.

Reporting to the Direct Bill Supervisor, this role collaborates with carriers, branch offices, and internal accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Additionally, the Direct Bill Analyst will leverage EPIC and other accounting software to enhance data accuracy and reporting.

Your Impact:

Direct Bill Processing, Cash Receipts and Revenue Management:
· Collect and reconcile direct bill commission statements from carriers/brokers across Property & Casualty and Life & Health lines.
· Verify that commission payments are received, accurately recorded, and posted to the appropriate carrier and accounts.
· Maintain and update monthly commission reconciliations using Smartsheets, Comulate and other source systems.
· Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information, ensure accurate billing of carrier receipts and discrepancy resolution
including: Life and Health, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines
· Communicate with offshore personnel to request documentation not yet available in the system.
· Post direct billed cash receipts and prepare bank deposits for checks received (including ACH direct credit payments).
Carrier/Broker & Banking Information Management:
· Manage carrier login credentials, ensuring proper security and access for retrieving statements and verifying transactions.
· Update and maintain carrier/broker banking information for each branch office to ensure timely and accurate payments.
· Maintain an up-to-date list of producer codes by carrier/broker and branch for accurate commission tracking.
· Responsible for obtaining missing statements from carrier/broker as needed.
Month-End & Financial Reporting:
· Ensure that all commission statements received have been reconciled before the close of each month.
· Verify that carrier/broker balances are accurate and match the GL records.
· Compile and analyze financial data for special projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
Software & Other Tools to support process:
· Utilize Comulate, Epic, AMS360, BenefitPoint, WorkSmart (ImageRight), and Smartsheets to record financial entries and ensure data
accuracy. Moderate knowledge of Microsoft excel, outlook, word and teams is required.
Cross-Training & Team Support:
· Cross-train on various direct bill functions across Property & Casualty and Life & Health lines to ensure workflow continuity during peak
periods or staff absences.
· Provide support on ad hoc projects and assist with other accounting-related tasks as required.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

· 2+ years of experience in direct bill accounting, accounts receivable, or insurance accounting a plus
· Experience with EPIC and other financial systems is highly preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions), Outlook, Word, and Teams.
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
· Self-motivated, team-oriented, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
· Required to work overtime during peak times, month-end and year end as needed.

This is a remote position, but minimal travel may be required for training, meetings, or other collaborative activities. Overtime is required during high-volume periods, month-end, and year-end closings.

Pay Range:

$19.23 - $27.65 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
