Overview APX Luxury is seeking a Digital Writer to develop and produce compelling stories for an upcoming digital publication dedicated to luxury, fashion, design, travel and culture across Africa. Based in one of the continent's key creative and cultural hubs, the writer will bring an on-the-ground perspective to the brand, uncovering the people, places and ideas shaping their city and region. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and reporter with curiosity, cultural awareness and a strong interest in luxury, fashion, design and travel across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

· Research, pitch and write original stories for the digital publication, with a particular focus on your city and wider region.

· Develop fresh, intelligent story angles around luxury, fashion, culture, design, travel, business and personalities, from established names to emerging talent.

· Report from the ground to bring first-hand insight to the publication.

· Build and maintain relationships with designers, artisans, hoteliers, entrepreneurs, creatives and other local sources.

· Build a network with the public relations professionals in your region and around for story leads.

· Contribute digital-first, SEO-forward stories based on in-depth research.

· Keep the editorial team informed of local trends, openings and cultural moments worth covering.

The Ideal Candidate

· Based in Casablanca, Marrakesh, Addis Ababa, Nairobi or any other major African city, with deep knowledge of the city's creative, cultural and luxury scenes.

· 3–5 years of experience in journalism, publishing, luxury, fashion, lifestyle or culture media.

· Excellent command of English and a strong individual writing voice.

· Strong research, reporting and interviewing skills.

· Curious, well-read and plugged into African and international culture.

· An established network within local fashion, design, hospitality or creative industries is a plus.

· Meticulous about facts, names, titles and details.

· Comfortable working at speed and independently, often remotely, without compromising editorial quality.
