Overview

Sensibly Sprouted is seeking a Dietitian, Primary Practice to independently deliver consistent, high-quality Medical Nutrition Therapy while maintaining strong patient engagement, clinical execution, and operational performance.

Primary Practice is the core patient-facing MNT role at Sensibly Sprouted and the primary long-term career state for Dietitians who have demonstrated full proficiency in the practice's standard model of care.

The Primary Practice Dietitian independently delivers Medical Nutrition Therapy across a broad range of patient needs while maintaining full ownership of clinical execution, patient engagement and continuity of care, schedule management, documentation, productivity, and operational standards.

Primary Practice represents the foundation of care delivery across Sensibly Sprouted. Dietitians in this role are expected to consistently apply the Sensibly Sprouted Approach, exercise sound clinical judgment, independently manage an active caseload, maintain strong patient relationships and outcomes, and deliver reliable clinical and operational performance.

What You'll Do

• Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy in alignment with the Sensibly Sprouted Approach.
• Independently assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Apply clinical frameworks, protocols, and workflows consistently within defined scope.
• Maintain consistency in assessment, intervention, and follow-through.
• Independently manage the full breadth of Primary Practice patient needs.
• Apply supplement protocols competently and appropriately within role scope.
• Build and maintain strong patient relationships and continuity of care.
• Support patient engagement, follow-through, and appropriate duration of care.
• Identify and address barriers to patient progress or disengagement.
• Adapt counseling strategies based on patient readiness and needs.
• Maintain a full and stable patient schedule aligned with performance expectations.
• Actively manage cancellations, gaps, availability, and unused capacity.
• Maintain strong alignment between schedule availability and patient demand.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow applicable billing, coding, scheduling, workflow, attendance, and communication standards.
• Maintain complete, organized, compliant, and up-to-date patient records.
• Participate in coaching, case review, and performance discussions.
• Maintain awareness of performance metrics and expectations.
• Continue developing clinical depth, judgment, and patient-specific care capability.
• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, professionalism, and strong communication in all interactions.

Readiness is based on directly relevant MNT capability rather than total years of Dietetics experience. A candidate may have substantial professional experience but still require additional MNT development if that experience provides limited evidence of directly transferable outpatient or longitudinal MNT capability.

Extensive tenure or advanced credentials do not independently determine readiness for Primary Practice.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate readiness to perform the complete Primary Practice role.

Required qualifications include:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
• Applicable state licensure or eligibility for required licensure

Advanced credentials or specialized clinical knowledge may strengthen candidacy when they materially support demonstrated capability within Primary Practice, but they are not independently required.

Role Structure

Primary Practice is a patient-facing MNT role and the primary long-term career state for Sensibly Sprouted Dietitians.

The role maintains substantial room for continued growth in clinical expertise, judgment, specialized knowledge, patient-management capability, reliability, and organizational contribution without requiring movement into another Dietetics pathway.

Primary Practice is not a management role.

Performance Expectations

Primary Practice Dietitians are expected to maintain consistent clinical and operational performance while independently managing an active patient caseload across the full breadth of Primary Practice.

Performance expectations include:

• High-quality Medical Nutrition Therapy across a broad range of patient needs
• Ability to independently manage a broad range of treatment areas within Primary Practice
• Sound clinical judgment across varied patient presentations
• Patient engagement and follow-through
• Continuity of care
• Consistent productivity and schedule performance
• Effective management of schedule availability, cancellations, and unused capacity
• Documentation timeliness and accuracy
• Appropriate supplement use within care plans
• Reliable execution of clinical and operational standards
• Calendar management and responsiveness
• Professionalism, accountability, and follow-through
• Continuous improvement in clinical knowledge, treatment capability, and professional effectiveness
• Ongoing expansion of clinical breadth to support effective treatment of an increasingly diverse range of patient cases

Compensation

Initial base compensation for Primary Practice is determined by demonstrated readiness for the complete role, directly relevant MNT experience, clinical judgment, and the breadth and depth of the candidate's applicable capability.

Placement toward the upper end of the expected initial range reflects stronger evidence of complete Primary Practice proficiency at entry. Placement above the expected initial range requires substantial directly transferable evidence across the complete Primary Practice scope.

Salary progression within the range is not automatic. A Primary Practice Dietitian who enters below the full-proficiency reference may reasonably progress toward that reference as complete-role proficiency, independence, and sustained effectiveness are demonstrated. Progression above the full-proficiency reference requires sustained evidence of exceptional value within the established Primary Practice role.

Candidates may be evaluated through:

• Review of relevant prior experience
• Evaluation of Medical Nutrition Therapy capability
• Assessment of clinical reasoning and patient-management judgment
• Evaluation of counseling and patient-engagement capability
• Review of ability to independently assess patients and develop effective care plans
• Assessment of operational readiness and independent caseload management
• A Primary Practice selection interview

The selection process is designed to determine whether the candidate demonstrates readiness to independently perform the complete Primary Practice role.

Candidates who demonstrate appropriate foundational capability but still require structured development before meeting the complete Primary Practice standard may be considered for Developing Practice.

Final selection for Primary Practice is determined by the Lead based on demonstrated readiness for the complete role.
