DevOps Engineer (Media and Advertising Industry)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Our client is a leading media-technology company offering a unified platform that powers the full advertising lifecycle for TV, radio, and digital publishers.

The DevOps Team is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join an outstanding Team. In this role, you will be a major contributor on a small, experienced team and you’ll be supporting the infrastructure that runs several different product platforms. We build powerful web-services, complex data pipelines, and modern UI. You’ll have opportunities to focus in areas you’re already skilled with and take on new challenges over time.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

• Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning

• Handle code deployments in all environments

• Identify, validate and implement technologies that enable new functionality and/or improve operating efficiency

• Monitor cloud-based applications and underlying database, server and network availability, capacity and performance

• Create design specifications and demonstrate solutions with detailed documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts

• Partner directly with support, operations and development teams to ensure we are meeting SLA’s

• Resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis to mitigate classes of production problems

• Provide on-call support once a month

IF YOU ARE

• 3+ years of experience supporting high-availability, revenue generating systems on Cloud Platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)

• 3+ years of experience working in modern web scale environments with development and IT teams using agile/SCRUM

• 3+ years of experience managing Linux and Windows servers using Bash, Powershell etc

• Experience with building / supporting continuous integration / delivery pipelines including environment reproduction, deployment, resource scaling using tools such as Jenkins, CloudFormation, etc

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and familiarity with Php, Nginx and Java

• Experience with version control systems such as Git, SVN, Mercurial

• Able to work as part of a 24x7 on call rotation powered by software such as OpsGenie or PagerDuty

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in Cassandra, Docker and ECS is a plus

• Experience in broadcast industry a plus
