DevOps/Cloud Native Engineer (m/f/d)

Your mission

We’re expanding our international footprint and are currently building a new Tech Hub in Romania. As part of this growing engineering team, you’ll play a key role in developing modern, scalable backend systems and cloud-based solutions for clients across Europe.

Like all our engineers, Cloud Native Engineers must have a solid foundation in software engineering. We are not looking for pure administrators ("Click-Ops"), but engineers who treat infrastructure as code. The Cloud Native Expert role forms the foundation for modern application landscapes. They understand how to abstract complex distributed systems and build scalable, secure platforms on which application teams can work productively. Automation, reliability and security are not features but fundamental principles of their work.

Core Engineering skills:

• Software lifecycle: Ability to manage CI/CD, testing and deployment strategies from development to production
• Architecture: Ability to design scalable systems, decompose microservices and own API design
• Programming: Mastery of algorithms, data structures and design patterns.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions and make pragmatic "build" versus "buy" decisions

Specialized skills (Cloud Native Expert):

• Kubernetes and Container Orchestration: Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals (API server, Controller, Scheduker, Networking) and the ecosystem (Helm, CNI, CSI)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Ability to define infrastructure declaratively (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi) and establish GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)
• Observability & Reliability (SRE): Design of monitoring, logging and tracing solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and understanding of reliability patterns (circuit breakers, retries).

Your profile

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer
• Solid understanding of cloud computing and containerized applications
• Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI) 
• Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is a must
• Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus but not required)

Location

This role is remote-first. You can work from home anywhere in Romania or make use of our new Tech Hub in Romania. Our German offices in Berlin, Munich, and Grünwald are also available for occasional visits. Most client work is done remotely.
