Desktop Publisher

Overview

This role will form an important part of our Desktop Publishing team and will involve typesetting in various formats / languages as well as proofreading translated and localised layouts. The objective is to produce faultless, high-quality localised documentation.

Job Scope

• To produce and deliver high quality layouts in multiple languages including:

• Typesetting / reformatting of foreign language manuals, product marketing materials and other project collateral

• Revision and proofreading of multilingual layouts to ensure quality and accuracy prior to client delivery

• Preparing files for localisation

• Analysing source files, preparing translation kits, integration, and QA

• Working closely with the project managers and clients to ensure project schedules are met

• Designing, documenting and implementing DTP processes

Skills and experience

• Ideally a minimum of 2 years typesetting experience specially in MS Word and Adobe InDesign

• Comfortable working as part of a team and collaborating with other team members and departments across all job processes.

• Computer literate with a good knowledge of Windows and Adobe CC applications

• Skills in tools such as QuarkXpress, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator and Video editing would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided

• Excellent attention to detail

• Good organisational and communication skills

• Knowledge of a foreign language, especially Asian or right-to-left languages, would be beneficial

• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn

• Flexible and adaptable to be able to work in a rapidly changing environment
