Zensar Technologies Limited is seeking a senior Database Administrator with deep mainframe expertise to drive the migration of DB2 for z/OS, VSAM, GDGs and flat‑file assets to AWS cloud services. The role encompasses data assessment, schema design, ETL development, Flyway‑based deployment, performance tuning and production cut‑over, working closely with mainframe SMEs, cloud engineers and DevOps teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze source data structures (DB2 z/OS, VSAM, GDGs, flat files) and create source‑to‑target mapping specifications.
- Design and implement DB2 LUW schemas, indexes, constraints and naming standards.
- Develop and maintain Flyway migration scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and execute ETL processes, including EBCDIC‑to‑ASCII conversion and legacy datatype transformations.
- Perform bulk and incremental loads into AWS RDS DB2 LUW and Amazon S3, supporting rehearsals and production cut‑overs.
- Conduct record‑count, field‑level and business‑level reconciliation and produce audit reports.
- Tune DB2 LUW performance, optimize load utilities and query execution plans.
- Collaborate with mainframe SMEs, application architects, Rocket Enterprise Server specialists, cloud engineers and testing teams.
- Support capacity planning, performance testing and rollback procedures.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of DBA experience with mainframe data migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 for z/OS, VSAM (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS), GDGs and JCL.
- Proficiency in DB2 LUW, SQL development, data modeling and performance tuning.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS RDS DB2 LUW, Amazon S3, AWS DMS, Glue and DataSync.
- Expertise in Flyway, database schema versioning and CI/CD integration.
- Demonstrated ability to develop ETL processes and perform data conversion (EBCDIC‑to‑ASCII, packed decimal).
- Experience with migration tools such as Informatica, Talend, Precisely or Syncsort.
- Background in banking, financial services or insurance domains is preferred.
- Familiarity with Rocket Enterprise Server environments and cloud‑replatforming initiatives.
