Position Description

PingWind is seeking an Database Management Analyst II  who will provide technical, analytical, and lifecycle support to the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division (MEWSD) for critical U.S. Navy Electromagnetic Warfare (EW), Decoy, and Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) systems. This role supports cradle-to-grave activities, including engineering, technology transition, installation, logistics, product support, test and evaluation, sustainment, maintenance, and repair. The Database Management Analyst II will integrate logistics, data science, reliability and maintainability engineering, and operations research to analyze and model complex systems, improve operational availability, and support data-driven decisions. This position directly contributes to optimizing warfighting capability, system readiness, reliability, and lifecycle performance while balancing mission requirements, performance, and cost.

Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
•    Administer, configure, test, implement, and maintain computer databases and database management systems (DBMS) supporting program and mission requirements.
•    Monitor database operations to ensure availability, reliability, integrity, security, and performance.
•    Plan, coordinate, test, and implement database changes, updates, upgrades, and modifications while minimizing impacts to operations.
•    Develop and implement database security measures, access controls, and safeguards to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, loss, or compromise.
•    Perform routine database maintenance, backup, recovery, and restoration activities to support operational continuity and data availability.
•    Monitor and optimize database performance, storage utilization, queries, and system resources to maintain efficient operations.
•    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database errors, performance issues, data integrity problems, and system failures.
•    Maintain database structures, configurations, documentation, and technical records in accordance with established standards and procedures.
•    Support the integration, migration, validation, and management of data across applications and database environments.
•    Coordinate with application developers, system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and technical teams to support database development, implementation, and sustainment.
•    Support database development activities individually or as part of an integrated technical team.
•    Ensure databases remain secure, accurate, accessible, and operationally available in support of mission and program requirements.
