What You'll Do

We are looking for a Data Technical Lead to own the technical direction of our data platform and data services.

In this role, you will be responsible for data architecture, system design, and technical leadership, ensuring scalability, reliability, and consistency across data pipelines and analytical systems. You will work closely with backend, product, and DevOps teams while mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on data infrastructure and distributed systems, rather than a single programming language or framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the architecture of data platforms and data services
  • Design and own data pipelines, data flows, and data storage strategies
  • Lead the development of high-load, data-intensive systems
  • Work with event-driven architectures, message brokers, and data streams
  • Ensure data consistency, reliability, performance, and observability
  • Make and document architectural decisions and technical trade-offs
  • Establish best practices for data modeling, processing, and system design
  • Review code and provide technical mentorship to data and backend engineers
  • Collaborate with product, backend, and DevOps teams on roadmap planning
  • Support and improve production data systems in high-availability environments

Technology Stack

  • Data & Storage: PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse
  • Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams
  • Transport & Integration: gRPC, HTTP, WebSockets
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Linux, Kubernetes (nice to have)
  • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
  • Data Platform: Data pipelines, data marts, analytical and reporting systems

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering
  • Strong background in data architecture and distributed systems
  • Proven experience designing and scaling data pipelines and data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with message brokers and streaming systems
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Experience with high-load and event-driven systems
  • Ability to lead technical design discussions and architectural reviews
  • Experience mentoring engineers and setting technical standards
  • Strong understanding of system design, performance, and reliability
  • Experience working with Docker and Linux environments
  • English proficiency — B2+ level

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Python 
  • Experience with FastAPI / Starlette
  • Experience integrating ML models into production systems
  • Knowledge of ClickHouse optimization
  • Background in fintech, neobanks, or regulated environments
  • Experience with Kubernetes
