ABOUT THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer with strong SQL skills to build and support reliable data products across OAG. You will join a back-end engineering team, quickly learning a complex aviation-data domain and turning detailed business rules into dependable data solutions. In Snowflake, SQL is organised in stored procedures, functions and views over high-volume data, with the main calculations running in a wider C# processing platform. You will work closely with engineers, product, delivery and platform colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 

• Write and maintain clear, accurate SQL in stored procedures, functions and views, including transformations of semi-structured JSON.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines, transformations and data models.
• Support and develop processes in Snowflake, learning platform-specific features as needed.
• Apply aviation-data concepts and business rules to turn requirements into practical solutions.
• Create automated data quality checks and monitoring, and investigate failed tasks and data issues.
• Improve query performance and resource use, with support from senior engineers where needed.
• Follow agreed security, testing and deployment practices, contribute to releases and keep documentation up to date.
• Work constructively with technical and non-technical colleagues, raising risks early.
  
  

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

• Strong practical SQL skills: joins, aggregation, CTEs, window functions and query troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting production data solutions.
• A sound understanding of data pipelines, transformations, data quality and ELT patterns.
• The ability to investigate query performance and improve reliability and resource use.
• A practical understanding of access control, data security and handling sensitive data.
• Day-to-day experience with version control, code review and automated testing.
  
• The ability to learn a complex business domain quickly and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Openness to using AI in day-to-day software development, including AI-assisted programming, agentic workflows and AI-driven software development lifecycle (AISDLC) practices.
  
  

IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING THAT WOULD BE GREAT: 

• Experience with aviation, travel technology or high-volume schedule data.
  
• Familiarity with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse, or with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud integrations.
  
• Familiarity with C# or JavaScript as used in the wider platform and database procedures.
  
• Experience querying semi-structured data such as nested JSON.
  
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (particularly Azure Cosmos DB) or tools such as dbt or Apache Airflow.

Monthly salary range from 4000 EUR to 5666 EUR gross (exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and competencies).
