About the Role

You will help shape and evolve data products in a cloud-native environment where scalability, performance, and reliable delivery matter. In this role, you work end to end with both existing and new data products, always with a clear focus on the target vision and on creating solutions that can run as independent deployment units.

You will be part of a setup influenced by DevOps principles and data mesh thinking, where close collaboration with product teams and stakeholders is central. The role suits you if you enjoy combining hands-on engineering with continuous improvement, modern cloud technologies, and a strong sense of ownership. Job Description

• You will build, optimize, and support data products from development through operation.
• You will work with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and GCP infrastructure to enable stable and efficient delivery.
• You will ensure that data products meet standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance.
• You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to shape the vision for existing data products and identify new ones.
• You will work with product teams across and outside your domain on topics related to data mesh.
• You will drive continuous improvement in the team and help reduce technical debt.
• You will handle data ingestion from on-premise source systems as well as cloud providers such as Azure.
• You will stay current with modern data, analytics, and cloud technologies and apply that knowledge in practice.

Requirements

• At least 4+ year’s work experience including hands-on as Data engineer on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience in GCP tools such as Dataflow and BigQuery
• Experience in Data Build Tool (DBT)
• Experience in different data formats such as Avro and Parquet
• Experience in data query languages such as SQL
• Experience with ingesting data from various on premise source systems as well as cloud providers like Azure
• Experience in data centric programming using one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Good understanding of different data modelling techniques and trade-offs
• Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases
• You communicate fluently in English, written and spoken
• You are comfortable collaborating closely with others while also taking decisions and working independently

Nice to have

• Experience in working with data visualization tools
• Business understanding of the retail industry
