Your Role & Responsibilities
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non‑functional business requirements
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery
- Write, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple joins and data sources
- Perform deep data analysis and investigations to explain results and provide actionable recommendations
- Apply strong data modeling principles to support analytics and reporting use cases
- Implement and support ETL/ELT processes, including validation and data quality checks
- Monitor, profile, and improve data quality through periodic reviews and root‑cause analysis
- Track and document data lineage to ensure traceability and transparency
- Collaborate with BI, analytics, and governance teams to ensure consistent, trusted data delivery
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing data solutions and recommend improvements
- Research new data sources and contribute to ongoing data quality and governance initiatives
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, unions, and performance tuning
- Strong proficiency in Python for data transformation and pipeline development
- Experience building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Solid understanding of data transformations (cleaning, shaping, aggregating, preparing data)
- Experience working with large, disconnected datasets
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and reliability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to concurrent projects
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with Delta Lake or modern data storage formats
- Familiarity with Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers)
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics (Power BI preferred)
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric
- Experience with data catalog or lineage tools (Purview or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git)
- Basic exposure to streaming or real‑time data ingestionUnderstanding of data security concepts and role‑based access control (RBAC)
Education & Certifications You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited institutionOR
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience
