Data Analyst

The Opportunity:
CACI is preparing for an exciting modernization effort with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This new program will be a transformational initiative that will reshape how the VA manages acquisition, contracting, and enterprise-wide data. As the VA moves toward a modern, secure, and integrated CMS environment, our team will play a pivotal role in delivering the technology, expertise, and innovative problem solving required to support our nation’s veterans.

The Data Analyst will support data migration, conversion, and quality assurance activities for a Federal enterprise acquisition system modernization, analyzing and validating data from 21 legacy applications transitioning to a unified Appian-based platform. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with data profiling and cleansing, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical teams to ensure data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct data profiling and quality assessments on legacy acquisition system data, identifying inconsistencies, duplicates, missing values, and data quality issues requiring remediation
• Analyze source-to-target data mappings for migration from legacy systems to Appian platform, validating transformation rules and business logic alignment
• Support development of data conversion and cleanse plans, documenting data dictionaries, schemas, and canonical data models
• Perform reconciliation activities comparing pre-migration and post-migration data, including record counts, metrics comparison, and integrity verification
• Collaborate with data conversion engineers, developers, and DBAs to troubleshoot data issues and refine transformation logic
• Develop test scenarios and execute data validation testing for conversion requirements, documenting results and supporting UAT activities
• Analyze interface transaction data to validate system-to-system data exchanges and identify reconciliation gaps or errors
• Create data quality dashboards, scorecards, and reports to communicate migration status and data health to stakeholde

Qualifications
Required

• US citizen with ability to pass Tier 2 background investigation
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with at least 2 years supporting data migration, conversion, or integration projects
• Proficiency with SQL for querying and analyzing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify data patterns, anomalies, and quality issues
• Experience with data profiling, cleansing, and validation techniques
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to document technical findings for non-technical audiences

Desired

• Federal acquisition, financial management, or ERP system data migration project experience
• Proficiency with Alteryx or similar ETL/data preparation tools
• Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality management practices
• Prior experience with Appian platform or low-code solutions
• Understanding of Federal acquisition data structures and contract lifecycle data
• Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory)
• Successful experience supporting Agile development teams with data analysis and validation
• Background in data reconciliation across multiple source systems or platforms
• Knowledge of data migration best practices for large-scale enterprise implementations
