Data Analyst

The Opportunity

As a Data Analyst at Hyper Hippo Entertainment, you will dive deep into data acquired from our games, marketing channels, and other external sources to help our product and marketing teams better understand the behaviour of our players and how it impacts our business results. Through your analyses, you will play a key role in uncovering where we can improve in our efforts to acquire, engage, monetize, and retain players on a global scale. From dashboards and reporting to exploratory analytics and predictive modelling, your insights will be instrumental in shaping the future of our games.

A Data Analyst’s Impact 

• Evaluate and articulate risks and opportunities in our live game operations through detailed analysis and interpretation of our data
• Design and develop predictive models to support business forecasting, strategic planning and scenario analyses that inform decision making.
• Act as an interpreter and bridge between data and the business by creating thoughtful reports and dashboards, helping to visualize insights that our teams can use every day
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all members of the team, sharing insights and tools that champion change and innovation  within our live game operations
• Architect of data quality policies and governance that promote integrity in our data and consistency in our review and policy

Your Track Record Includes

• Proficiency with data visualizations tools (Tableau, Databricks AI/BI), Excel, SQL 
• Experience working in data analytics, and previous game industry experience is considered a plus
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, physics, or other technical field related to measurement & analysis
• Excellent quantitative skills, understanding of statistics, predictive modelling & ability to synthesize complex data into the “big picture”
• Experience in a fast-paced environment prioritizing competing demands
• Familiarity with app analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics)
• Familiarity with data analysis & statistical methods; Python/R scripting skills a plus
• Ability to look at large complex data sets, formulate meaningful conclusions and succinctly communicate them via written and verbal presentation
• Flexible team player who can effectively work with colleagues from different backgrounds and domains of expertise
• Experience working in a mobile or web environment

What We Offer!

Your base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location (if outside the provinces listed). The annual base salary for this position is $79,170 - $91,040 for candidates located in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. For other jurisdictions, your base salary may be different.
