With consolidated annual production capacity of approximately 2.2 million tonnes of kraft pulp and 550 million board feet of softwood lumber, they're transforming biomass into bioproducts for a more sustainable world.

Our client seeks a hands-on cybersecurity professional to support their company-wide cybersecurity program, operations, and projects. You'll lead cyber incident response and investigations, act as a security champion for IT and other teams, and utilize strong technical skills along with communication and coordination abilities to protect the organization from threats while meeting business needs.

This fully remote position operates on staggered hours (11:00–20:00 EET/EEST) to ensure daily overlap with Vancouver HQ. Employment is via a local Employer of Record (EOR) provider with infrequent business travel to Germany or North America as needed.

What you will do as a Cybersecurity Analyst...

  • Security Operations: Support the cybersecurity program, operate security tools, and create, execute, and manage security processes

  • Monitoring & Detection: Monitor security-related events, detect and respond to alerts and incidents, and analyze logs to identify threats and anomalies

  • Incident Response: Coordinate cyber incident response, work with external IR partners, conduct investigations, and perform high-level forensic analysis

  • Vulnerability Management: Manage the full vulnerability management process—assessments, analysis, reporting, prioritization, and coordination of remediation activities

  • Cloud Security: Ensure security of data and systems on-premises and in the cloud; implement and support cloud-aware security architecture

  • Exposure Assessment: Assess cybersecurity exposures of IT systems, conduct investigations, and prepare detailed reports

  • Reporting & KPIs: Assist in developing cyber-related reports and KPIs, collecting and analyzing system-generated data for designated audiences

  • Security Awareness: Support delivery of awareness programs develop training, build campaigns, report results, and provide recommendations

  • Policy Development: Support development, documentation, testing, and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and operations playbooks

  • Threat Intelligence: Stay current with cybersecurity landscape, analyze industry trends, and identify potential impact to technology systems and operations

What we are looking for…

  • Cybersecurity Experience: Minimum 4 years of proven cybersecurity experience in operational environments

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent IT/cybersecurity studies (equivalent combination of training/experience may be considered)

  • Security Operations: Proven experience in security operations; SOC experience is an asset

  • Certifications: Information security certifications preferred (CISSP, CISA, GIAC)

  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of anti-malware/endpoint protection, firewall, email security, IPS, SIEM, AD, Windows security, network security, disaster recovery, and incident response

  • Cloud Expertise: Knowledge of public cloud platforms, relevant security tools, and cloud security architecture

  • Industry Standards: Knowledge of NIST, ISO, CIS, and other cybersecurity frameworks

  • Security Awareness: Experience delivering end-user security awareness training and tests

  • Collaboration Tools: Strong knowledge of modern cloud-based productivity tools; Google Workspace knowledge is an asset

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with ability to explain cybersecurity risks to technical and non-technical audiences

  • English Fluency: Full professional proficiency required for communicating complex ideas in cybersecurity/IT context

  • German Proficiency: Considered a strong asset for collaborating with German teams

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to work independently and as part of a team, with proactive problem-solving approach

  • Organization: Strong time management with ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive issues simultaneously
