Join our dynamic team as a Subject Matter Expert in IT , where you will contribute to the development of a postgraduate unit in the Master of Information Technology (AQF9).
The SME for IT will provide dedicated curriculum design and development support to the Master of Information Technology team during a critical period of course development and implementation. Working closely with the curriculum team, the SME will contribute to the design of contemporary, industry-aligned units that reflect current IT project practices, emerging technologies, and future workforce needs.
The primary focus of this role is the development of curriculum, including learning resources, facilitation guides, workshop materials, assessment resources, and teaching content to support the continued delivery of the SAE MIT course.
Working closely with the Head of School, course committee and learning designers, the successful candidate will assist in translating current IT practice competencies into engaging, practical, and professionally relevant learning experiences.
This position has been established to provide immediate curriculum development capacity during a period of temporary staffing shortages and increased program development activity and is available for immediate start.
While the incumbent may provide limited support to teaching, assessment, or student engagement activities where required, the primary purpose of the role is curriculum development and course readiness.
This role is ideal for an IT professional interested in shaping innovative postgraduate education within a creative and technology-focused higher education environment.
Project Summary
Develop one postgraduate unit outline and supporting curriculum materials
Draft assessment, topic areas, and indicative learning resources and weekly topics
Contribute to constructive alignment and AQF9 expectations
Support the development of authentic and industry-relevant learning activities
Participate in consultation and review meetings with the curriculum team

About You
You will have:
Significant industry experience in IT and Computer Science industry, specifically Blockchain Technologies and Decentralised Systems
Demonstrated experience developing curriculum, educational resources, training programs, assessments, workshops, or professional learning materials.
Experience translating complex IT concepts into engaging educational content.
Demonstrated experience writing facilitator guides, learning activities, student resources, or competency-based learning materials.
Excellent written communication and editing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and deliver projects within short timeframes.
Familiarity with AQF and contemporary higher education practices
The ability to collaborate effectively within academic and curriculum development teams
Highly Desirable
Experience developing a practical IT curriculum.
Experience developing competency-based IT education programs.
Experience in higher education curriculum design or instructional design.
Familiarity with Moodle or other learning management systems.
Experience facilitating IT education programs or professional development workshop
