Duties and Responsibilities
Handle the day-to-day crypto accounting and reporting for clients engaged in cryptocurrency transactions. This includes tracking and accounting for digital asset transactions, gains, losses, and holdings.
Weekly wallet and exchange reconciliations of digital wallets and exchanges, ensuring all crypto transactions are accurately captured in the financial records.
Tax advisory on the latest in cryptocurrency tax laws and regulations. Advise clients on tax implications related to their crypto activities and assist with tax planning and compliance.
Blockchain Analysis using blockchain analytics tools to verify transactions and analyze the flow of digital assets.
Monthly financial analysis and reporting. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential areas of risk or opportunity.
Develop and maintain robust internal controls and procedures for the handling and reporting of digital assets.
Educate clients on the accounting treatment of digital assets and provide ongoing support for their crypto-related queries and needs.
Research and implement the latest crypto accounting software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Keep up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices in crypto accounting, ensuring that client accounts remain compliant.
Identify and address potential risks related to cryptocurrency transactions and holdings, advising clients on risk mitigation strategies.
Manage complex intercompany transactions involving digital assets, ensuring accurate and compliant financial treatment.
Actively participate in team meetings, share insights on crypto accounting trends, and collaborate on improving internal processes and client service strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years of direct experience with cryptocurrency, digital assets, or blockchain-based financial reporting.
Confident, professional, and articulate in written and verbal communication.
Analytical mind with a focus on attention to detail.
Ability to meet with clients via telephone, Zoom and when applicable, in person.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
Certification for QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop (preferred).
Familiarity with general concepts of cryptocurrency and blockchain is a major plus!
Ability to learn internal systems and software related to blockchain and crypto.
Progressively improving and expanding accounting knowledge; practices continuous learning and retaining the material learned.
Strong time management and motivational skills.

Experience with general business terms and transactions.
